    Why Is Water Important?

The body is made up of 50-75% water. Water forms the basis of blood, digestive juices, urine and perspiration, and is contained in lean muscle, fat and bones. As the body can’t store water, we need fresh supplies every day to make up for losses from the lungs, skin, urine and our bowel movements.

Water plays many important roles in the body including flushing waste from the body, regulating body temperature, transporting nutrients, and is necessary for digestion. No wonder it is considered “essential!”

How much water should I drink per day?

How much daily total water do you need? For healthy individuals, the average daily water for men is about 15.5 cups, and for women about 11.5 cups. That might mean you need only four to six cups of plain water, depending on other fluid sources such as coffee, tea, juice, fruits, and vegetables.

What happens to your body when you start drinking more water?

Water aids the digestive system, helps prevent constipation, flushes toxins from the body, promotes good kidney function, keeps your joints and muscles lubricated, supports healthier and younger-looking skin, and helps regulate body temperature

So why should I start drinking more water?

You feel less hungry  and may even lose weight. Feel less fatiqued and experience more comfortable digestion such as less heartburn and more regular and easier bowel movements.
